There are many great reasons to consider an energy-efficient lamp option when specifying your Manning fixtures.

Comparing a standard Manning pendant fixture with eight 100-watt incandescent interior lamps vs. the same fixture with the standard four 40-watt compact fluorescent lamp package, the benefits include

Lower electric bills

Yearly energy cost (based on .10¢/KWh national average and usage of 21 hours per week):

(4) 40 watt compact fluorescent: $17.52
(8) 100 watt incandescent: $87.60

YEARLY SAVINGS: $70.08 per fixture

Lower maintenance costs

In addition to saving energy, compact fluorescent lamps will also dramatically reduce the cost of maintenance, despite their higher initial cost:

Average life of (4) 40 watt compact fluorescent: 20,000 hours
Average life of (8) 100 watt incandescent: 1,000 hours

Based on average use of 21 hours per week, the compact fluorescent lamps will last an average of more than 19 years. The incandescent lamps will need replacement at least once a year. If you hire professional maintenance staff or your building requires renting a lift or other equipment to reach the fixtures, you can see there will be substantial savings over time.

Better appearance

The linear profile of compact fluorescent lamps make them ideal for consistent, even illumination of long shapes. Because today’s fluorescents also offer excellent color rendering, are dimmable, and are available in different color temperatures from cool to warm, they are effective incandescent replacements.

A reduction of approximately 14,792 pounds of the greenhouse gas CO2 is realized over the course of the fluorescent lamps’ life cycle in the comparison above vs. incandescent lamping.
